Crieff villa and coach house conversion goes on show
Corryard Developments are to host an open day for their newly completed conversion of a Victorian villa in Crieff, updating the historic home to form three apartments with two houses in the grounds.

John Corryard, managing director of Corryard Developments, commented: “Dalmhor is an old Victorian villa, which we have converted into 3 apartments, coach house and new build house on the surrounding land, just at the gates of the Crieff Hydro Hotel.

“By visiting Dalmhor, you will get a good idea of the quality, design and workmanship of a Corryard renovation.”

McKenzie Strickland Associates served as architects on the scheme, assisted by interior designer Susie Whyte.

The open day will take place tomorrow at Dalmhor, Ewanfield Road, Crieff, PH7 3DA between 10:00 and 13:00.

That first image - oh dear. The dormer, the balcony projecting out from the slice into the roof, the timber clad extension with the glass balustrade, no consistency whatsoever - oh dear, oh dear.

Being from Crieff, I think the exterior of this building is a hideous mashup of the traditional Victorian villas which the area sees so much of and a modernist interpretation of a garden shed. I would greatly prefer it if my hometown didn't become a showcase of 'classic, but with a modern twist' eyesores.

I Feel soo bad for those sockets on the end of the kitchen island. What did they do to be treated like that.

Oh dear, These guys know how to erect a howler. So many poorly considered details both conceptually and technically. Definitely more money than sense. You would think that in having an office in crieff they may have wanted to produce something good in their back yard.

I always think it is best to wait until you have bought some picture hooks before taking the publicity shots.
Finishing of some of the timber detailing would have been a good idea too.
Some of the detailing does seem a bit crass though.
