The Broomielaw project is the second of nine districts to be looked at in detail following completion of an earlier exercise at Sauchiehall and Garnethill and aims to shape the areas regeneration over the coming decade.
Over the course of the day initial ideas gleaned from an earlier event will be distilled to form a list of priorities with workshops enabling the public and organisations to get hands-on with the designers from Austin-Smith:Lord and MVRDV to flesh out these ideas.
Councillor Frank McAveety, leader of Glasgow City Council, said: “The Broomielaw District is a key area for the city centre and indeed the whole of Glasgow, home to some of the biggest companies we have, in a fantastic location beside the River Clyde and the emerging quarter at the SECC and the SSE Hydro.”
A similar initiative for the Sauchiehall District recommended improved public realm and streetscapes around the M8 motorway.
