Bellway Wins for Mondriaan

June 4 2008

Bellway Homes Ltd has won a Homes for Scotland ‘Quality Award 2008’ in recognition of the company’s Mondriaan development in Glasgow.

The company scooped the award in the urban large category for Mondriaan in Maryhill, a development of one and two-bedroom apartments, and three and four-bedroom townhouses, designed by the Holmes Partnership architectural practice.

Bellway said they took the inspiration for the development from the Dutch abstract artist Piet Mondriaan, where his linear style and use of vibrant colours is evident in the exteriors of the properties.

“We are delighted that Mondriaan has won such a prestigious award," said Allan Martin, partner at Holmes Partnership

"The project has been a real team effort and a product of a fantastic relationship between architect and client. Bellway is to be congratulated on its role in revitalising and regenerating the area of Ruchill.”
