Scottish Design Awards nominations revealed
Nominations for the 19th Scottish Design Awards have been published, chosen from a long list of 90 submissions chewed over by a panel of judges chaired by Heinz Richardson, board director at Jestico + Whiles.

Amongst an eclectic mix of submissions to go before the judges this year were a timber pyramid, seasonal canal kiosks and a school which has banished all corridors.

Outlining the key characteristics of a winning entry Richardson commented: “I will be looking for design that pushes the boundaries, addresses issues of sustainability and strives for excellence. Clarity of communication will be key.”

Winners of the 2016 Scottish Design Awards will be revealed on the Urban Realm website on the evening of the 25 May following a gala dinner at the Radisson Hotel, Glasgow.
