Tenders invited for Kirkmichael Heritage Centre
February 10 2016
The Kirkmichael Trust is inviting contractors to tender for a significant heritage project on the Black Isle within a restored medieval kirk and graveyard. This will see traditional construction techniques and archaeology used to faithfully bring the ruins back to life as a heritage centre following a successful crowdfunding drive.
Project architect Chris Bowes of McGregor Bowes remarked: “We’re right down to the roots of the building – the frame – so a lot of it is new construction using salvaged material from the site, or where that isn’t possible, traditional locally-sourced materials.”
Tenders must be submitted no later than 19 February using the Public Contracts Scotland portal (tender code JAN232549) with work expected to get underway in earnest this spring.
