Holmes celebrate planning approval and new design appointment

November 22 2007

Planning permission has been granted for a new research facility for the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Edinburgh’s King’s Building Campus.

Designed by Holmes architects, the new building will link up with existing facilities and provide the school with purpose-built laboratory space and modern, energy-efficient office facilities.

The building is part one of a three-phase development attached to the University’s masterplan for King’s Building Campus

The news comes as Holmes architects celebrate their appointments to design the scheme to convert Marischal College in Aberdeen into the City Council's new corporate HQ.

Harry Phillips, chairman of Holmes and project leader, said: "We at Holmes are delighted to have been appointed as architects for this truly exceptional project. The redevelopment of Marischal College is one of the most exciting schemes in the country and we look forward to delivering a magnificent new facility for Aberdeen City Council."
