The replacement facility will provide maternity services for the city and is likely to be sited close to the existing children’s hospital.
The cancer centre meanwhile will be built adjacent to the Matthew Hay Building and will be linked to a newly commissioned £25m radiotherapy centre.
Health secretary Alex Neil said: “This funding will allow NHS Grampian to build a new maternity hospital. This will see expectant mothers give birth in a better environment, and benefit from new equipment and state-of-the-art facilities.”
Work will now begin on planning the new developments, which form part of the board’s Healthfit 2020 vision for the redevelopment of Foresterhill.
