Kelpies visitor centre and Pinkston watersports centre share £950k grant
Plans to build a £1.2m Kelpies visitor centre in Falkirk and a watersports centre at Pinkston, Glasgow, have been given a shot in the arm following a decision by the Scottish Government to provide funding to the tune of £950k.

Work on the shovel ready projects, designed by Nicoll Russell Studios and 7N Architects respectively, can now commence immediately with the aim of capitalising on the regeneration and tourism potential of the canal network.

Transport Minister Keith Brown said: “I am delighted to announce additional funding to Scottish Canals which builds on our commitment to supporting the organisation in its regeneration work. This funding will go some considerable way to improving the visitor experience at both the Kelpies visitor centre and Pinkston Watersports.”
