Morgan McDonnell granted planning permission for Old Town project

Morgan McDonnell architects has been granted planning permission for a multi-million pound, mixed use regeneration scheme within Edinburgh's Old Town.

The project will comprise of 80 new residential units as well as ground level commercial accommodation. The listed buildings on the site, some previously owned by Edinburgh City Council and dating as far back as the 16th Century, are to be restored pending approval.

Work is to begin on the project this Autumn, with completion expected in 2012.
