Falconer Chester to masterplan Wirral’s New Brighton seafront
Falconer Chester Architects is to masterplan the New Brighton seafront on the Wirral, with the aim of bringing life back to the forgotten resort. The scheme is currently at the pre-planning stage, which will see a comprehensive re-modelling exercise of the promenade that spans from the former tower grounds site to the lido. Neptune Developments Ltd are Wirral Borough Council\'s preferred developer and have been charged with the task of re-developing the 60 acres surrounding New Brighton Seafront Site.
The masterplan includes leisure, residential and retail uses to rejuvenate the area and encourage sustainable economic growth through increased employment and tourism generated by the new facilities and improved existing facilities. Plans will re-introduce the Lido and the famous New Brighton Pier. There will also be a multi-screen cinema, supermarket and a restaurant quarter. The Floral Pavilion Theatre will be refurbished and extended to include new conference and exhibition facilities, the marine boating lake will be up-graded and relocated to provide new purpose-built facilities.
