Funding secured for Donside Urban Village
Tenants First Housing Co-operative and the Scottish Government are to collaborate with local housing associations on a £55m ‘urban village’ for a former paper mill site in Aberdeen.

Scheduled for completion in 2014 Donside Urban Village will accommodate a total of 209 homes will be built for rent or shared equity made up of flats and 2-4 bed properties. Provision will also be made for business start ups, nursery, shops and 77 homes for private sale.

Designed by Halliday Fraser Munro the estate will implement environmentally friendly elements including a proposed hydro electric plant to tap into the nearby River Don and solar water heating.
