Frasers Suites set sights on Shrubhill
Frasers Property have unveiled plans for a second Frasers Suites serviced residence in Edinburgh, hot on the heels of a mooted development on Glasgow’s waterfront.

Broadway Malyan have designed the 121 apartments, located at Shrubhill, to activate the Leith Walk frontage by locating the entrance, lobby and restaurant to the street edge.  It is hoped that this can provide a walkable urban fabric that will knit the site back into surrounding streets.

Frasers Property is a divison of Fraser and Neave, a Singaporean conglomerate which traces its corporate history back to two Scots, John Fraser and David Chalmers Neave who established the business in 1865.

David Westwater, Development Director at Frasers Property said: “We firmly believe that when your outlook is global, you see the world differently.  We are also proud of our Scottish roots and therefore doubly delighted to be bringing our second Frasers Suites development in Edinburgh to Shrubhill on Leith Walk – it is a fantastic location linking Edinburgh’s city centre to Leith, offering guests easy and sustainable access to the unique variety of attractions and amenities which Scotland’s capital is world renowned for.”

Subject to the necessary planning consents work will begin in 2010 for completion by 2012.
