Libraries, museums, homes & more leap off the page in the ASA24

The Architecture Scotland Annual is back with a fresh collection of everything from prisons to libraries, museums and even a former public convenience.

The growing maturity of retrofit solutions has made its presence felt across Urban Realm and the Scottish Design Awards, the ASA24 is no different. From Paisley Central Library, a sensitive shopfront makeover of a vacant High Street store, to the transformation of a former Kilmarnock Church into a climbing centre, we see that anything is possible when reimagining what has gone before.

Great architecture is about more than the individual success of a few headline-grabbing showstoppers. By collating over a hundred new buildings, we show the cumulative impact of new construction at large. So, put your feet up and enjoy the collection. It is an indispensable retort to the argument that our best architecture lies in the past.

The Architecture Annual is a process, not an event so keep an eye on Urban Realm to be among the first to get a glimpse of next year’s cohort of entries. In the meantime the Architecture Scotland Annual 2024 is now available to purchase by non-subscribers.
