Hundreds more homes to fringe the northern edge of Aberdeen

Barratt Homes and EMA have filed plans with Aberdeenshire Council to build 194 detached homes, 48 of which will be affordable, at Potterton on the northern outskirts of Aberdeen.

Adhering to the approved masterplan the £50m proposal features properties ranging from one to five bedrooms close to the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route.

David Palmer, managing director at Barratt Homes North Scotland, said: “These proposals follow the approval by Aberdeenshire Council of our masterplan framework for the land to the north-east of Potterton in June last year.

“Through close collaboration with the community, partners, our ecologists and the Barratt design teams, we’ve created a plan for an attractive and thoughtful development which residents can be proud to call home.

“Potterton lies just a few miles from our main office, and we have a lot of links with the village. We are excited about this opportunity to be involved in the sustainable growth of the community and to provide new high quality energy-efficient homes.”

Native planting open spaces and footpaths to the existing village will also be created.
