Community campus gives shape to Ardrossan Coastal Quarter

A new waterfront district in Ardrossan is beginning to take shape with coastal engineering for a promontory community campus set to begin in the next few months.

RJ McLeod has been appointed by North Ayrshire Council to carry out the work, clearing the way for construction of the jmarchitects designed school by building a retaining wall, spine road and coastal path.

This follows a £3m remediation process to treat soil and groundwater contamination from a former oil refinery, conducted by Sanctus.

Councillor Tony Gurney commented: “These works are not only critical for the development of the Campus but also the wider regeneration programme and further phases of development."

The Passivhaus campus will be ready for construction from early next year.
