Nevis Properties has lodged plans to create a bespoke extension to the B-listed Cleveden Terrace in Hyndland to create a three-bed mews home and extend an existing ground-floor flat.

Accessible from a rear lane the new dwelling at number 15 is being led by Haus Architects who propose to extend a non-contemporary outhouse as a stone-clad home over two levels with an integral garage. Incorporating a private first-floor roof terrace the property the proposals include the landscaping of a rear garden for use by existing residents and a realigned rear entrance.

In a design statement, Haus wrote: "The new dwelling extension reinstates the mews footprint within the rear of the site. The building comprises a single gable pitch, responding to the existing massing and providing a contemporary interpretation of the hip pitches of other mews buildings present within the streetscape.

"The extension to the current ground floor flat is lower in scale to provide a sensitive connection to the existing building. This also ensures views and daylighting for the upper bedroom part of the ground floor flat is maintained."

The townhouse was previously converted into four flats, with an extension to the ground floor residence providing an additional bedroom.
