One of the largest public, private collaborations in regeneration was unveiled today on the Inverclyde waterfront.  The joint venture will see James Watt Dock in Greenock transformed by  £180m of investment.

At the heart of the bid will be a fully restored Sugar Warehouse.   

The 10 year plan will transform the 50 acre site with new business and residential premises.  In total some 45,000sq/ft of retail provision will be provided alongside 145,600sq/ft of commercial space and hundreds of homes will be built around a 400 berth marina.

The first phase will see infrastructure improvements including routing a road to the dock and various environmental improvements.

The project is being overseen by Riverside Inverclyde, a partnership between Inverclyde Council, Clydeport (now operated by Peel) and Scottish Enterprise.

The project is anticipated to complete by 2016.
