COP26 House relaunch
Date: 12 Sep 2025 - 12 Sep 2025
Time: 14:00-16:00
Town/City: Rothiemurchus Estate, Aviemore

We are delighted to announce the upcoming relaunch of the COP26 House, in conjunction with Rothie Cabins at Rothiemurchus Estate, near Aviemore.
Originally built for the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, the cabin was created to showcase zero-carbon, circular building solutions – built using homegrown timber from BSW sawmills in Fort William and Boat of Garten.
Following the conference, the structure was carefully dismantled, transported, and reassembled within the ancient Caledonian forest of Rothiemurchus Estate. Today, it stands as a living example of successful Design for Deconstruction (and Reconstruction) – true circular economy in action. It will be used as a luxury holiday cabin, run by Louise and Graeme Fisher of Rothie Cabins as part of their pioneering “eco-tourism” venture. You are invited to the Relaunch celebration, from 2-4pm on Friday 12 September at Rothiemurchus Estate.
In addition to touring the house, you will hear from some of the key players involved in the project - from its inception as a zero carbon showcase at COP26 in Glasgow, through to its resurrection and the new beginnings in the beautiful foothills of the Cairngorms. For those who can’t make it for the event on Friday, you are welcome to attend our open day on Saturday 13th September, 10am – 4pm.
