Glasgow Fort car park welcomes first visitors
Glasgow Fort has unveiled a 600 space multi-storey car park as part of a wider expansion of the east end shopping and leisure destination.

Designed by Cooper Cromar the five storey block employs Caithness stone and sustainable timber to blend in with neighbouring shops and a cinema,

Phil Goodman, Centre Manager at Glasgow Fort, said: “The provision of an additional 600 free parking spaces is fantastic news in response to the demand from customers to enjoy our leading brands.

“We are committed to continuing to improve your customer experience and the additional car parking and new guidance system will make it even easier to find a parking space.”

The car park was built by McLaughlin & Harvey and includes 11,500sq/ft of ground floor retail.

Am glad that they took inspiration from the Scottish vernacular renaissance, A-listed Provan Hall, in which this used to be their lawns down to the Monkland Canal. I suppose the sylvanian ornamentation distinguishes the car park.

Hate the way they trashed their own aesthetic by losing the curved shells for the most recent blocks fronting the M8. Guess the the original concept architect should have been retained to maintain consistency.

If Carlsberg did car-parks...
Honestly, if your building a car-park this is the way to go about it. Very nice. I like the huge 'P' parking symbol too, nice touch.
