Kier Construction has been awarded the contract to build a £45m learning campus in Kilmarnock, clearing the way for construction work to get underway within the next few weeks.

Delivered by Hub South West on behalf of East Ayrshire Council The William Mcllvaney Campus is scheduled for completion in 2018 and will cater for 1,928 pupils aged 2-18 within on-site primary, secondary and nursery schools.

Formed from a merger of four existing schools in the town; Kilmarnock & James Hamilton Academies as well as New Farm and Silverwood Primaries the Norr designed campus will specialise in Gaelic language provision via Scottish Government funding.

The combined campus is being built on the site of the existing James Hamilton Academy at Sutherland Drive, Kilmarnock.
