We have an exciting opportunity for an architect with enthusiasm for sustainable design.


Role description:
 

Specialising in sustainable design, Architeco have a vacancy for a qualified and experienced Architect to join our small, practice in Dunoon. Our growing workload means we need a skilled Architect to support the Principal. Your tasks will include carrying out of day to day project work, from inception to completion, including initial client liaison, preparation of the brief, sketch proposals, detailed design, comprehensive working drawings and construction packages, contract administration, on-site inspections, chairing progress meetings, preparation of minutes.

Project work will vary, from conceptual work, to feasibility studies, as well as the more typical full project services.

Responsibility for quality control. This will include reviewing and checking project documentation, including project drawings output, from other staff members prior to issue to outwith the office.

Preparing and collecting information for Building Warrant compliance packages.

Preparing and monitoring projects for CDM compliance.

Liaising and developing good working relationships with external design team members and consultees

Assisting with the preparation of marketing materials. Attending trade shows.

Exploring opportunities for business development.
 

Role Requirements:

 

Personal Qualities: You should be: Professional, responsible, positive, flexible, have initiative, pro-active.

Skills Required: Outstanding communication, both written and verbal. Excellent design skills from concept to detail, with proven detailing ability. Excellent interpersonal skills to work with clients and colleagues. Able to plan ahead, problem solve, find creative solutions, realise ideas and work as part of team. 

Ideally you will have a background in sustainable design and building. 

In such a small team, it is essential that every staff member is able to work as needed and respond effectively and quickly. Your role may require some overseeing of junior staff, and you should be as comfortable managing people as taking direction.

Software: ArchiCAD BIM (training available), MS Office.

 

Qualifications: ARB Registration (other experienced candidates may be considered)

 
This is a full time position for 12 months. A permanent contract may be offered, along with our profit share eligibility, following this initial period.
 

 

Compensation & benefits

 

Salary: Base Salary plus benefits.

Eligibility for Profit Share after 12 months

Finder’s Fee on introduced clients

Pension contribution

32 days holidays per annum, rising to 35 after 7 years.

35 hour working week with paid overtime, if required.
