Royal Hospital for Children and Young People and Department of Clinical Neurosciences

Client : Multiplex Construction / NHS Lothian Location: Edinburgh Value: £150m Services: Architecture, Interior Architecture, Landscape Architecture The redevelopment of services from the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP), Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and the Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DCN) in a single building adjoining the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France. HLM delivered NHS Lothian’s vision to create one inspiring space bringing together outpatient and inpatient facilities for paediatric care, specialist neonatal care, neurosciences and adult and children’s emergency departments, generating one site that works as a centre of excellence for staff and patients alike. There are significant benefits of having children’s maternity and adult services on the same site and the proximity to the University of Edinburgh Medical School and the Bio-Quarter will improve opportunities for partnership working and brings research to the bedside.
