Govan Old Waterfront

City Design have been comissioned to re-instate a direct route along the riverside between the new landing stage at Water Row, opposite the new Riverside Museum in Glasgow, and the historically significant Govan Old Church. This new riverside public realm link will enhance the existing local path network and re-establish the former public realm and right of way along the south riverside. The riverside public realm improvement is part of a wider area masterplan City Design are undertaking in the area, and the robust urban boardwalk propsed will form a Phase 1 development, providing a safe and accessible route along the southern riverside. The space will widen in width at key points to create seating and viewing areas and will be balustraded on the riverside edge. City Design have engaged in extensive community consultation in the development of the proposals and used our funding expertise to assist the client in securing the project funds.
