Renovation of Humanea Vitae House, Braemar
Renovation of Humanea Vitae House
This former Schoolhouse and Catholic Training Centre within the Cairngorms National Park, north-west of Aberdeen has been renovated into a stylish holiday home.
The partial demolition of the existing building and major internal alterations has transformed the once quaint dwelling with modest proportions into a spectacular dwelling with a double height living space and bespoke timber kitchen at the heart of the dwelling. The space is overlooked by a curved balcony which leads onto to the private master-suite. The traditional timber trussed roof rafters against the frameless curved glass balcony successfully links modern and traditional elements in the building.
