The Herald Building, Glasgow
FM Developments
This Owen Williams'-designed A listed building from the 1920's was formerly the home of the Glasgow Herald and the Evening Times. A £25m refurbishment of the nine storey building has created 149 apartments.
Innovations & Added Value
The size of the floor-plates in conjunction with the associated problems of sub-dividing the deep floor plan and the high floor to ceiling resulted in an innovative development of loft style flats. The Interior layouts serve to emphasise the expanse of glazing and the extensive concrete structure of the original design.
