New owners tweak St Andrews golf resort vision

A proposal of application notice has been filed with Fife Council by GPH Engineering for the creation of a multi-million-pound golf resort at Feddinch Mains, St Andrews.

Having acquired the site last year GPH is seeking to progress the development of a new clubhouse, 39 suites, a spa and restaurant to serve an 18-hole championship golf course designed by 1973 Open champion, Tom Weiskopf - for which work is already underway.

Once again led by G1 Architects the leisure-led vision centres on the listed Feddinch Mains farmhouse, which will be converted to guest accommodation for members.

Weiskopf said: “The uniqueness of Feddinch is two-fold: it is in a superb location, just 2.5 km from the beautiful town of St. Andrews, the home of golf, and will offer superb facilities, including a stunning clubhouse and golf course.

“The new owners are committed to providing the most comprehensive golfing experience in the British Isles and I am incredibly excited to finally see this dream project come to fruition.”

A web-based consultation documenting the latest plans will take place on 20 May.
