Torry garage apartment potential to be realised

Plans have been brought forward to build eight flats on the site of a workshop and garage at Walker Place, Aberdeen, by JOR Property.

Arranged around a retained electrical substation the plan calls for two offset stacks of accommodation arranged around a central circulation core with access provided along a newly formed lane.

Exterior facades will be finished in smooth acrylic render with elements of Larch horizontal shiplap cladding with a private 81sq/m garden and patio area provided to the rear.

A ground floor recycling and bike store will be accommodated in the plans with communal waste bins located on the street.

Existing stone boundary walls will be retained as part of the work.

Apartments will be finished in a mix of render and larch boards

An instructive demonstration of what can happen when you don't employ an architect.

Isn't it a kind of unwritten rule in Aberdeen, the Granite City, that new builds have to have some granite renderings? Would be better than acrylic!

Disgusting, moronic, unimaginative, boring and if the planners take this seriously then they too are part of the problem.
