Cruden Homes with jmarchitects have prepared plans for an 'anchor' apartment block on brownfield land at Dalmeny near South Queensferry.

16 homes will be built at the junction of Craw's Close and Burdock Road opposite Dalmeny Train Station, joining a significant volume of new-build apartments and houses in the immediate vicinity adhering to an EMA Architects masterplan.

Treating each frontage equally the four-storey block will sit under a pyramidal roof lined with a brick skin to the lower floors with a contrasting white render applied to upper floors.

In a statement, the applicant wrote: "The vision for this site is to complete and anchor this section of the masterplan through the creation of a high-quality building that takes advantage of its location at this junction and is seen 'in the round’."

The accommodation mix includes a variety of one and three-bed apartments with all ground floor units having direct access to private gardens.

This CGI is a good example of what happens when people work from home and cant ask for a colleagues opinion.
The scheme looks odd too with flats looking across a pavement, directly at car bonnets, with no privacy buffer space at all.

I don't think anyone has realised that this is the entrance to a large underground bunker. Non-descript building, in the middle of wasteland, so it won’t become an obvious target by the soon to be, newly formed, virtual nation of Amazonia.

The bunker will house 10,000 of Scotland’s finest. It includes large cold stores for Buckfast, which has proven to be effective against the spread of COVID21.

This is really quite bizarre and looks worse in the actual planning documents - like a resurrected zombie design from the 80's. It's so atypical of JR's usually high quality work that we can only speculate that it's been strongly driven in this direction by a fairly backwards developer?
