A collaboration between Caledonia Housing Association and Discovery Homes is to deliver 40 mixed-tenure homes at Dundee's Hilltown.

Replacing the former Rosebank Primary the innovative build will see all homes delivered using off-site construction, a process which will ensure properties can be made wind and watertight in as little as a week.

Occupying a steeply sloping plot the development will incorporate public art to help establish a sense of identity and employs zero carbon design and construction techniques.

Voigt Architects director Jonathan Reeve said: “This is an exciting development on a challenging brownfield site in the Hilltown area of Dundee. We hope that these houses will set the standard for new social housing, given their exceptional energy-efficient standards.”

Subject to the necessary consents construction should begin by the autumn.

“This is an exciting development on a challenging brownfield site.” A wasted opportunity as they appear to have completely levelled the site in two places and "joined" the two levels with a retaining wall reminiscent of an Aztec Temple. Wow. What a charming feature that will make at the bottom of the garden someone call Charlie Dimmock.
