£55m Inverurie Community Campus completes

Aberdeenshire Council has taken delivery of the £55m Inverurie Community Campus following handover by Hub North Scotland and Robertson Construction.

Accommodating up to 1,600 primary and secondary pupils the campus has been designed by Halliday Fraser Munro with furniture and fit-out specialists Deanestor and includes a new home for the St Andrews School for children with special educational needs (SEN).

Stretching to 360 individual rooms spanning general teaching areas, sports facilities and administrative functions, the learning spaces are unified by a colour coordinated interior design scheme.

Yunming Thomson, design director at Halliday Fraser Munro, commented: “It was a clear client requirement to have the breakout areas and learning plazas well populated with a choice of seating. With Deanestor’s input, we have achieved a good variety of seating and storage options and in vibrant colours that work very well visually. We used a palette of greys for the fixed furniture and highlighted the colours for each learning zone with the flooring, seating and soft furnishings.”

Inverurie Campus also accommodates a range of amenities for local people including a cafe, community centre, gym and swimming pool.
