Mast Architects and G3 Consulting Engineers have begun delivery of 87 affordable homes at the former East Dunbartonshire Council headquarters in Kirkintilloch.

Built by CCG and scheduled for completion by early 2022 the project will include a mix of social rented and shared equity flats and houses.

Joint council Leader, cllr Vaughan Moody, commented: “I am delighted to see work getting underway at this site. It is a great location with a leisure centre, park, supermarket and bus and train routes all within a stone’s throw. This smart new development will greatly enhance what has been an empty brownfield site for some time.”

The brownfield site has already been cleared following the local authority's relocation to a purpose-built new HQ in the former town hall.

The project is being delivered in partnership with Hub West Scotland and NBM Construction.
