Craigforth campus Prudential HQ detailed

Ambassador Group has followed up their public consultation for a mixed-use campus at Craigforth, Stirling, with detailed plans for the office component of the plan.

Craigforth North will provide 75,000sq/ft f accommodation for Prudential, replacing outdated existing buildings with a landscape-led campus environment focussed on a dramatic crag, woodland and the River Forth.

Driven by Stallan-Brand and OOBE the proposals will repurpose an area of surface parking adjacent to the A84, enabling the current buildings to remain in operation throughout construction, freeing up the bulk of the site for development in turn.

This larger area to the south has been earmarked for a new leisure destination centred on a hotel and conference centre with the riverside flanked by new residential buildings and parkland.

At the heart of this masterplan will be a new tree-lined boulevard and community square, providing a centre of gravity for newly laid pedestrian and cycle paths which will knit the site together.

As part of this work, the B-listed Craigforth House will be upgraded, with improvements made to its immediate setting.

Wow ...I am so underwhelmed by this.
So much potential and yet so far from fulfilment.
'Detailed' sure has changed meaning since I was a lad.

This site is stunning, with the wooded crag behind and the distant views to Ben Ledi, Ben Lomond, Ben Vorlich and Stuc a Chroin.

The architecture needs to be something special. The artist's impression of what looks like a Midwestern University Mathematics Faculty in about 1967 is somewhat underwhelming.
