Melrose school readies for resumption in lessons with facade improvements

Aitken Turnbull Architects have brought forward proposals for a series of facade improvements to St Mary's School, Melrose, designed to transform its exterior appearance.

Planned works will see the application of wood fibre cement cladding to a veranda and west elevation of Morrison Hall, improving links between classrooms and the assembly space while introducing new planters and wooden screens.

Cladding boards will be applied around existing columns with new louvres installed over windows with benches and wooden slits framing the route at a low level.

Located at Abbey Park in the town St Mary's is an independent, co-educational, day and boarding preparatory school.
