A full refurbishment of Glasgow’s Sentinel Building on Waterloo Street has been completed, including a full internal fit out and an extended reception area.

Overseen by Doig & Smith the work included the installation of new raised access flooring and suspended ceilings together with the installation of LED lighting.

Core spaces such as washrooms and changing areas were also given a make over, with three new lifts and a contemporary makeover for the front reception - including a concrete-clad ‘feature box’ set within all-new curtain walling.

Yvonne Lowe, senior project manager said: “It is extremely satisfying to see the outcome of the refurbishment works on the Sentinel building, a job our internal team thoroughly enjoyed working on alongside a quality design team and contractor."

Externally granite cladding has been replaced and new signage installed.

Has something happened to those photos? Each one looks rotated off the horizontal access and is making me seasick to look at.

Really old photos too if you check the backgrounds. It's all a bit meh.....if you're trying to market an empty property it should have been bolder to stand out from the crowd.

It's a real shame - the original GM+AD reception was bold and confident. This is a pale comparison.

I worked in the Sentinel building for 3 years for the previous tenant who now has a new office across the road. I could never get my head around how a building with so much glass facade could have such a dark and dingy interior! I appreciate a lot of this will be down to the layout of the fit-out which can be changed but it was not as nice as I'd expect. The communal areas - wc/stairwells/lobbies were attractive but again, could never get my head around the decision for glass stairs - very slippy in formal work shoes!
