Talisker café enables visitors to drink up views

Follow-up plans have been brought forward for a new café at Talisker Distillery on the Isle of Skye following the submission of earlier plans for a new entrance space and visitor centre.

Once again overseen by Michael Laird Architects the expansion has been designed to maximise connections to Lochy Harport with an expansive floor to ceiling glazed gable offering unobstructed vistas.

The double-height twin-gable structure will be finished in Siberian Larch treated timber wall cladding above a stone plinth with large format double-glazed black metal windows.

The Diageo-owned plant has become a popular fixture on the Skye tourist trail, prompting the need to expand facilities to cater for visitor needs while keeping pace with rival attractions.

Additional parking provision will be allocated to cater for the expected increase in demand.
