Stewart Milne, Avant Homes and Miller Developments have teamed up for a significant residential development bringing 350 homes to Auchendinny, Midlothian.

A masterplan prepared by Yeoman McAllister earmarks 27.7ha of greenfield land on the eastern edge of the village for the development, centred on a civic square connected to the broader estate by treelined streets.

Fronted on three sides by two-storey terraced housing this central hub serves as one of several key points such as the primary entrance which have been singled out for improved quality ‘character zones’ singled out for differing external wall finishes and enhanced public realm.

In a statement the architect wrote: “The development comprises of predominantly 2-storey detached housing; in addition to this there are affordable units comprising cottage flats, terraced houses & terraced flats. With regards to density, higher density housing is located around the village greens such as the civic square and open space at the primary entrance.”

As part of the development land will be reserved for a potential future school with existing and new tree banks used to screen boundaries.

No updates for roads,doctors, schools etc etc

#3 - you need to view the overall masterplan in the application, which indicates a new school plot within the development.

Is this in addition to the houses already planned for that site??

Unaffordable flat-pack mansions for commuters, loss of agricultural land, loss of wildlife habitats, more pollution, no social infrastructure.. No thanks.
