Cameron House win bedroom & ballroom extension bid

Cameron House has obtained planning consent from Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park to erect a bedroom and ballroom extension to the five-star resort.

Designed by 3DReid with Hirst, Thomson Gray and Greyline Design the 7,345sq/ft extension will provide an additional 68 beds, an outdoor terrace and capacity for up to 400 guests in a ground floor function suite.

Andy Roger, resort director at Cameron House, said: “The proposed extension will maximise the stunning views of Loch Lomond whilst fully respecting the architectural integrity of the original house. The plans include a new loch-facing ballroom and 68 bedrooms, which will adjoin the hotel’s existing leisure wing.

“This will bring the resort’s total offering to 208 bedrooms, including 28 spectacular suites."

Cameron House is set to reopen by the end of the year following a devastating fire with completion of the £17.5m extension expected by summer 2021.

Planning board have bought the Scottish Exec planners demands for more modern design. Just compare what has been approved by comparison with the original extensions to the left hand of the original building. Its far too long and inarticulate. The colour is wrong as is the massing. I didn't know Cameron House needed an office extension!!! No prospect of a future listing of this poor effort. Hope Prince Charles does not get to comment.

Compliments and frames the historic building; unlike the pastiche effort to the left hand of the original building.
