Troon care home breaks new ground

CCG and Morrison Community Care Group have broken ground on a new care home at Templehill, Troon, to deliver 56 beds of private care accommodation.

Queens View Harbour has been designed by Unum to provide 24-hour care and on-site nursing for all residents with private grounds offering views across the Firth of Clyde with facilities on offer including a beauty salon, café, cinema and putting green.

Paul Sokhi, managing director of Morrison Community Care Group, commented: “Our 30 years’ experience in the industry has shown us that people want to have fun in their old age and we want to encourage this through design and environment. By encouraging people out of the often-lonely surroundings of their own homes into an environment where there is a vibrant community, we hope to give residents and their families an extra lease of life."

The care home is expected to complete by spring 2021.

A fulfilled old age aided by design and environment - not readily apparent from the visual. This is a sad reflection on the planning authority that endorsed the design.

I hope the kids leave me with the shotgun before I'm tipped in a place like this
