Interserve is to deliver a £15m Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre at Glasgow Airport after being named preferred bidder for the build.

Led by the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) the centre will act as a bridge between industry and academia to encourage innovation and reduce the risks associated with product development.

Cameron Stewart, Interserve’s regional director, said: “We have an extensive track record in this sector and look forward to adding real value to the project through our extensive experience and capabilities in the healthcare and medical research sector. The facility will be market leading for the pharmaceutical industry and Interserve are pleased to be part of that.”

Jerry Cooper, project director for the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre added: “With a collaborative innovation culture and state-of the art facilities, this new centre will enable industry, academia, healthcare providers and regulators to work collaboratively to address challenges and maximise technology opportunities within the medicines supply chain.”

Design of the new plant has been undertaken by BakerHicks and is situated alongside a separate £65m manufacturing institute.

Nice to see they let the work experience kid do the CGIs!

I know it's a big shed, but as a profession do we really think it's still acceptable to produce such shameless images?
