Marketing underway for new Yorkhill flats

Savills have begun marketing the latest apartment scheme to spring up in Finnieston, Glasgow, with new images released for The Works.

Located on Gilbert Street the project will deliver a mix of 34 two-bedroom apartments, arranged around communal rear resident’s garden.

Designed by Grant Murray Architects back in 2018 the project would take the place of a vacant industrial unit on land bounded by Yorkhill and Kelvinhaugh Streets to restore the street edge in an area which has become fragmented by piecemeal demolition and new build.

In a statement, Savills wrote: “The Works offers a stylish mix of 2 bedroom apartments with a selection offering patio gardens, balconies, allocated parking and lift access.

“The kitchens have been individually designed by Cameron Interiors and offers a handleless range of soft close kitchen doors and contemporary work surfaces.”

Built around the confines of a disused Yorkhill railway tunnel the flats will include south-facing balconies embedded behind a grid of buff brick with entrances marked by recessed brickwork.

UR: The apartments aren't springing up in Finnieston, they are firmly in Yorkhill.

It’s Kelvinhaugh next to Kelvinhaugh School.

A good solid build, glad to see it starting. Will be a positive addition to the area.

If the balconies are south facing then the is high in the north east sky, why not use accurate projections?
