Midlothian Council outline Pentland Hills snowsport destination

Midlothian Council has filed an application for planning in principle to redevelop the existing Midlothian Snowsport Centre to provide additional facilities, accommodation and a hotel.

The £13.8m overhaul will introduce all-weather facilities including restaurants, an alpine coaster and zip line for thrill seekers.

Located on the northern fringe of Pentland Hills National Park Destination Hillend will be delivered in phases from 2020

In an environmental impact assessment consultants Sweco wrote: “The development is currently at outline design stage. This means that the various facilities that are proposed as part of the overall scheme are at a conceptual stage.”

Subject to the necessary consents the attraction could be up and running by 2022.
