Kirkintilloch school sale unlocks 15 homes

A Victorian Kirkintilloch school is to be converted into 15 homes following the sale of the building by East Dunbartonshire Council to Panacea Property, brokered by DM Hall.

The former St Agatha’s Primary School is to be converted by GD Lodge Architects to create six apartments with a further nine new build houses earmarked for the schools one-acre grounds.

Homes will make use of new natural stonework to match the existing with new build elements finished in a mix of brick and render with feature pre-weathered zinc/copper window bays and balconies.

Bruce Lindsay of Panacea commented: “Construction will be starting at once and completion is programmed for early 2021, although advance marketing will get underway during the course of next year”.

Located at the corner of Gartshore and Waterside Road the school has been superceded by a new 300-place primary at Newdyke Road.
