Acciona shed light on Ness Energy project

Acciona, the contractor behind energy from waste facility at East Tullos, Aberdeen, has further illuminated its plans with an updated lighting design statement.

The Spanish contractor proposes to bathe the Ness Energy Project in light from a perimeter of LED luminaires skirting the exterior of the facility.

Located on a former gas storage site within the East Tullos Industrial Estate the plant will process 150,000 tonnes of solid waste annually from 2022.

In a statement, Acciona said: “This contract is part of Acciona’s commitment to projects based on cutting-edge technologies that contribute to sustainability and protecting the environment. Acciona’s experience of projects for generating energy, recovering waste and constructing turnkey energy plants were all determining factors in winning the contract.”

The £150m incinerator is a joint project led by Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray Councils.
