Mid-market Govanhill homes complete

Glasgow Housing Association has taken possession of 45 affordable homes on the site of a former primary school at Batson Street, Govanhill.

Victoria Primary School was demolished in 2017, clearing the way for contractors CCG to move on-site with the mid-market development consisting of 40 flats and five houses, each with their own garden.

A shared landscaped courtyard and 25 parking spaces are also provided by the development.

CCG managing director, David Wylie said: “Our capabilities in ‘offsite’ methods of construction means that these new homes have an enhanced building fabric ensuring that residents can reduce energy consumption and lower their fuel bills.”

The new homes have been designed by Cooper Cromar.
