£10m Merchant City BTR development completes

Kelvin Properties and Tay Letting have been completed work on a £10m build to rent development in Glasgow’s Merchant City in what is being heralded as a harbinger of things to come for the sector.

Candleriggs Court comprises 36 apartments within the heart of the entertainment district, offering a mix of one to three-bedroom apartments with underground parking and access to a communal residents garden.

Tay Letting director Marc Taylor commented: “Candleriggs Court is a unique development in Glasgow. It offers affordable accommodation in the heart of the Merchant City while delivering a secluded community just minutes’ walk from the best bars and restaurants the city has to offer. This really resonated with potential tenants, and unprecedented demand allowed us to fully-let the development in a matter of weeks.

“BTR developments will play an increasingly important role in Glasgow over the coming years.”

The developers now plan to progress a further city centre BTR development next year.

#1 oh ffs. Existing buildings have these issues. Cover your eyes with your silk hanky if it so offends you. Most folk won't give a rats.
Great idea to get density back into the city centre by giving folk options.
