Perthshire barn positioned as wedding venue

Wellwood Leslie Architects have brought forward plans for a ‘rustic’ wedding venue at Farmhall Farm near Forgandenny, Perth & Kinross formed from existing farm buildings.

A cattle shed, byre and haybarn would be transformed into an events space, dance hall and reception catering for up to 180 guests, predominantly in the form of wedding hires over extended weekends.

In a statement the architects wrote: “The proposal seeks the creation of a new wedding venue in an agricultural location.

“The largest item expected to be delivered is the external glazed screens and doors, which can be delivered on the back of a flatbed truck. There may be a requirement to limit the size of some vehicles accessing the site and hence the size of components able to be delivered/built.”

Construction is likely to get underway by late 2020.

I wonder how they intend to deal with the insulation requirements - it seems like a lot of exposed stone inside and out.

#1 Blow heaters as elsewhere. It's not a habitable space. It's really a marquee with knobs on.
