Sanctuary press ahead with 130 Paisley properties

Sanctuary Homes, working with Mast Architects, are to deliver 130 affordable homes at Glenburn, Paisley, after requesting permission from Renfrewshire Council.

Replacing an area of cleared tenements dating from the 1950s the regeneration will deliver a variety of homes all built to Housing for Varying needs and Lifetime Homes standards, including eight wheelchair adaptable properties.

Outlining the design principles of the project Mast wrote:” The development will use a mainly brick facade with creative detailing and differing tones of brick chosen to animate the facades.

“Vertical emphasis has been achieved through the use of contrasting brick tones to break up the length of the terraces. This is further enhanced through the use of corbelled brick to frame elements around the windows. The same two brick types will be used throughout the development along with the same details to create a unifying aesthetic.”

A density of 35 homes per hectare has been specified with a variety of bungalows, semi-detached properties and terraces offered.
