Renfrewshire Council has green-lit plans for a pedestrian and cycle bridge to cross the Black Cart river, connecting to the southern end of Greenock Road.

The crossing will open up a safe route over the Inchinnan Road junction and provide access to the £39.1m Glasgow Airport Investment Area, a 150-acre manufacturing district playing host to the National Manufacturing Institute for Scotland and the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre.

Renfrewshire Council leader Iain Nicolson commented: “For many years now Renfrewshire has played a vital role in Scotland’s manufacturing sector and this is set to grow exponentially as these national innovation centres attract others to base themselves at this fantastic new facility, connected by air, sea and land.”

Separate bridges are also planned to span the White Cart Water and River Clyde to further open the area up to development.

Nice, I particularly like the double headed yellow arrow alongside the bridge, although they will have a hard time constructing it in the one piece shown.
