Kirkcaldy affordable housing drive to deliver 161 homes
Springfield Properties are to deliver 161 affordable homes for Kirkcaldy, on the site of a former linoleum works at Nairn Road.

The 8.4 acre site will be given over to a mix of cottage flats, terraces, semi-detached homes and apartments with four storey ‘marker’ blocks serving as gateways to the development.

Formed from white render, grey facing brick and composite cladding boards the scheme seeks to create a ‘strong presence’ to the primary Nairn Road frontage.

In a statement Springfield wrote: “An active building frontage has been created along the southern boundary looking towards Nairn Street with a varied ridge line.

“We have also created an outlook to the open space / potential linear park, out with Springfield ownership, to the north. This will allow for a positive, overlooked space.”

Parking bays are angled to slow traffic and will be partially screened by trees, shrubs and hedges.
