Balloch Campus teaches lessons in co-location
West Dunbartonshire Council has taken possession of its newest school following delivery of a £16m campus drawing together three separate schools under one roof.

Delivered by Morgan Sindall and Holmes Miller the 53,280sq/ft Balloch Campus occupies the site of the former St Kessog’s Primary, offering pupils a modern new home co-located with Balloch Primary - itself a merger of two existing schools.

With a capacity of 747 pupils the school is arranged on a north/south axis around a secure ‘entrance bubble’ protecting the bulk of the school within. This reception connects directly to an east-west route off which are arranged shared dining and gym halls.

Two floors of learning hubs radiate out from this central node with brick and dark coloured cladding panels articulating the bulk of the elevations, broken by a natural slate entrance ‘pod’.

An additional support needs unit and an early learning and childcare centre are also provided on-site.
